Loryn met with the ENT specialist this afternoon. The doctor told us Loryn needed to go in for surgery tomorrow and that it can't wait a week as she would expect Loryn to be back in the Emergency Room within the week without surgery. Loryn goes in tomorrow morning to get tubes placed in her ears and her mastoid process looked at. It still looks like there may be an infection there, will know more when she goes in tomorrow.
The auditory tests show there is a problem in her left ear, but we won't know more until they can get her ear drained of all the fluid and give her another hearing test. The new new antibiotics may not be doing the trick. Won't know until she is completely done with them, but as of now, her ear and sinuses are still very much infected. The levaquin worked the best, but she is allergic to that antibiotic, and the infection seems to be resistant to amox, augmenton, and cefzil.
Please keep Loryn in your thoughts and prayers as she gets tubes and the infection looked at tomorrow. Hoping all goes well and we don't have to worry about any more surgeries. If you are wondering what other surgeries, they would be adnoids, tonsils and sinuses.
