Bye Bye Uncle James

Eric's very good friend James left for boot camp. Here are a few pictures from the day before he left. Loryn loves spending time with her Uncle James as long as Mommy and Daddy are still in sight.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

For my 25th birthday, we went to Atlanta to celebrate with my best friend Ashley. On Friday we met Ashley for brunch at Bagelicious.
After brunch, we brought Loryn to go and visit my dad and uncle. Here's Loryn visiting them.

When we came back to the hotel to relax, Eric sat up Loryn and gave me a great birthday present. Here is a video of Loryn sitting up for the first time.

For dinner we went to Fuji Hanna. Here are a few pictures from a very fun night.

A New Addition

This morning at 8am after 23 hours of labor, my cousin Jodi gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Violet Segal Taylor is weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces, and 20.5 inches.
We are very excited to have this wonderful new addition to the family. And we just can't wait to meet her. Both mom and baby are doing great.

Present for Loryn

We received a package from my cousin Jo'Anne today. She sent us an update on how she is doing and she sent Loryn a beautiful dress that my Uncle Bobby had bought for my cousin Savannah right before he passed away. I know she will love it when she is old enough to wear it. I really don't get to see this part of my family much at all. They live in Australia and now my cousin and her husband are moving to S. Korea for the next few years. We are still hoping that they will get to visit us at some point.

Loryn went to a baby shower with me this past weekend for my best friend Kelly. Loryn was an absolute angel. She didn't cry at all and just spent the entire time smiling at people. Kelly's mother-in-law took Loryn from me and I really didn't see her much during the 4 hours that I was there. Here is a picture of my other best friend (her husband) getting in some practice. Loryn just felt right at ease with him and slept until I woke her up to go home. If you go to the Baby News blog (Kelly's blog), there is a link for pictures. There are more pictures of Loryn and I on there.

Valentine's Day...Eric and I had a date night planned out for Valentine's day. We were going to go out to dinner and a movie. We made it to the restaurant and put our names on the waiting list, but we never got to sit down to eat. Loryn wasn't liking spending time with her babysitter and we had to come home to calm her down. We walked into the house to see her pouting and staring the babysitter down. She wouldn't even take a bottle from him. So, we resigned to just get something quick. Which was our mistake, because we both got a horrible case of food poisoning and I spent the entire weekend incredibly sick.

Recent Videos of Loryn

Eric took a video of Loryn in her swing and they were having a conversation.

Our next step in feeding Loryn was to try applesauce.

This is a long video. This is pretty much the entire rice cereal feeding (from start to finish)

Mish Mash of February 2009 (so far)

Here are some great photos of Loryn so far from the last month and a half. I haven't been taking too many pictures of her. But here is a little recap of how she has been doing.

Loryn is trying to roll over from her back to her stomach, and she can get half way and then gives you this look like "Now what am I supposed to do?". It is very cute. She laughs at me. She thinks I am the funniest person ever, and when Eric tries to play with her now, she looks to me for the okay. Loryn absolutely can not sleep without her bunny blanket. It is her favorite toy, no matter what else we give her, she wants the bunny blanket. Everything goes in her mouth, especially her hands and she fake coughs to get attention.

It has been a little chilly down here, it even hit the 30's and poor Loryn just didn't know what to do. She was all layered up. Enjoy this fun picture of her.
Yummy yummy food. We started Loryn with rice cereal on Tuesday February 10th. She is just too funny when she eats and we will post the video later. Please enjoy the photo of her first time eating.
And here is the second night of rice cereal.
Loryn's friend Chase is letting her borrow his bumbo seat. Loryn still hates to sit down, and she has discovered she can wiggle her way out of the chair.

Loryn is 4 months old

I can't believe she is already 4 months old. She is just getting so big. For those of you that have seen her and know how worried we were when she was in the 5 percentile in weight, well, that had definitely changed. She has chubby little legs now and little fat rolls. She loves loves loves to eat and is already up to 5 ounces a bottle except when she wakes up and right before bed (these are 6 ounces). She smiles and laughs at everything.

She loves going to see her babysitter now. She smiles when I drop her off. I think she really has fun over there. The other baby there is so sweet. She gives Loryn kisses and then takes Loryn's toys. But I have a very sweet child and she doesn't mind when other kids play with her toys.

Loryn is weighing in at 12 pounds 4 ounces and she is 24.5 inches. She did not get her 4 month shots at her check up because she has a little infection. She should be able to get her shots as soon as she is done on her antibiotics. We were told that we can increase her rice cereal in her bottles and we can start her on solid foods as soon as she is feeling better. Loryn is also pushing up on her arms more and more, and she kinda kicks around. So maybe sometime soon she will start crawling.
