In need of a good laugh?

A girl I knew in college posted this link on Facebook with the comment that she spent the last half hour reading the comments from this recipe and couldn't stop laughing.

She was totally right. I have been laughing so hard reading these comments that I started to cry. Eric has been laughing at me just from my reactions.

Hope you find this as funny as I did.

28 weeks pregnant

Today was my 28 week appointment. I am currently 27 weeks and 4 days. So far the doctor is comfortable with my weight gain (but I of course am not). I have gained between 18-20 pounds so far and hoping (rather unsuccessfully) that I will not gain any more weight. I am measuring between 28 and 29 weeks right now. As time goes on we will see if that actually means anything. I am continuing to have contractions, so every now and then I have to kick my feet up and push fluids.

Ethan definitely kicks a lot. I remember Loryn moving around a lot, but I swear this little boy kicks stronger and more often. Loryn and Eric have both gotten to feel the movements, and it is so crazy to look down and see him kicking and moving. Sadly neither Eric nor Loryn understand that he doesn't kick on command. At least Eric doesn't get upset about it. Loryn spent one evening yelling at my stomach when Ethan wouldn't kick for her like she had asked. Loryn definitely likes to come and cuddle and put her head on my belly. Not sure if she likes listening or just wants to cuddle with her mommy.

Today, I also had my glucose test. Ugh, I hated it more this time than the last, but at least this time I didn't break out in a cold sweat and almost get sick. I will tell you that the drink tasted like ice cold flat orange slice. Yuck! Will find out in a week or so if I passed or failed. Hoping I passed as I do not want to repeat this test and have to sit through it for 3 hours (as opposed to the 1 hour test I had today). My next appointment is at 30 weeks.

Loryn's hair cut

I have been trying to grow Loryn's hair out. I let Eric talk me into getting it trimmed so she couls see again. Well, It is much shorter than I wanted it, due to the fact that we just can't ever sit still. Still a super cute hair cut, but definitely a set back in trying to grow it out.

Loryn sitting on her big girl bed with her bunny and the cute dress that her Great Aunt Cinda had made for her.

Loryn is such a giggle monster. As long as she is getting her way, she is happy and smiling.

Loryn's new room and bed

For Hanukkah Eric and I decided we would get Loryn a new "big girl" bed. With Ethan due to arrive in 100 days, we figured we should start to get Loryn used to sharing her room. Eric's mom for the holiday's bought Loryn her new bedding, and Eric and I painted her room, and bought her a new mattress. When we move, we will buy a whole new bedroom set. We were very worried that she would completely freak out when she saw the new set up, since she doesn't always react well to change. But she surprised us. Maybe it was because we have been talking about her new bed and that we would be making changes. When we brought her into her new room, she got so excited and kept screaming "wow, my new bed". We decided to keep her sleeping where her toddler bed had been, since that seems to be where she is most comfortable, and we rearranged all the other furniture in the room. I haven't taken pictures of Loryn's room since before she was born. The first 2 pictures are of her room when we first set it up. I periodically move her room around, so this is not how her room was originally set up before. Also, we bought her a new crib/toddler bed since the first 2 pictures were taken, but at least you can see how the room used to look.
The original room was pink and green.

Loryn's original crib. This crib was recalled, and we bought her a new transitional bed that we had just turned into a toddler/day bed back in March 2010. The bed moved from this corner, over to the corner by her closet over a year ago.
The first night we showed Loryn her new Hello Kitty bed. Since the walls were recently painted, we hadn't put anything up on the walls just yet. She loved exploring all her new Hello Kitty items, as well and jumping up and down on her bed.
I spent a few hours trying to put up her pictures and fixing up the other side of the room for Ethan. I was a bit worried about the green, but it matches the winnie the pooh bedding set perfectly.
This it he crib all set up and ready for Ethan to arrive. Inside the crib, the mirror is all set up.

Here is the other side of the room, where the dresser/changing table is set up. Still have to figure out how they kids are going to share a tiny dresser, but we will figure it out sooner or later. So far, Loryn is very fascinated in what is going on with the crib. Under Loryn's bed is more storage and that is where we have put all of Ethan's toys so far. Sadly, the room is not big enough for the glider with Loryn's new bed added into the room. So we have moved the glider out into the sunroom just outside the door to Loryn's room. There we have a table set up next to the glider as well as an extra bouncy seat. Our next step is to slowly move around Loryn's play area in the living room to make room for some items that will be for Ethan.

Holiday time down in South Florida

For our time off of work this year during the holidays, we decided to go down to South Florida for an extended vacation. We had a great time visiting with Eric's parents, grandparents, Aunt and Uncle, cousins, and friends.

Loryn had so much fun having play dates with her friends as well as getting spoiled with presents.
We finally were able to take Loryn over to Sugarsand Park. This is her first carousel ride
Loryn wasn't too sure about the horse. She was okay, until the ride started and then she started crying, and by the time it was almost over, she was laughing and having a blast.

Loryn enjoyed the swing while Mommy was pushing her, but as soon as Daddy got back there to push her, she had a mishap. While Daddy wasn't paying attention, he pushed her too hard, and she went flying off the swing. After that, she didn't want to get back on.
Inside the children's museum they had a dinosaur exhibit going on. Loryn decided to color a dinosaur, but instead of using the crayons like mommy would have liked, she wanted to use the markers like a big girl.
The next exhibit coming up at Sugarsand park is going to be a puppet exhibit. Loryn had fun playing with the puppets for a few minutes
All dressed and ready to go celebrate Christmas with Grandpa Steve and Grammy Susan. Loryn inherited this lovely dress from her cousin Savannah. We will soon be passing it down to cousin Violet. The dress was originally bought for Savannah from my Uncle Bobby. Loryn is the 3rd cousin to get to wear it.
Pictures with Grandma Lisa before we go off to celebrate Christmas.
Loryn decided that only Grandpa Steve was allowed to help her open presents. She ripped the paper and he needed to be there to take it from her.
The first present, Loryn opened without ripping the wrapping paper at all. By the time we got to the second present, Loryn decided it was time to rip small pieces of paper off. I think it took almost 15 minutes to open this gift.
"Oh boy, a doll house" Loryn loves her new doll house. We can't wait to buy more furniture for it.
The day after Christmas, we met Eric's grandparents, Aunt and Uncle and cousins from New York for brunch at the Polo Club and then back to Eric's Uncle's place to open presents. Loryn and Matthew had so much fun playing with all of Matthew's toys.
Matthew playing with his new toy from Brian and Karen, as Loryn continues to open presents. She received some wonderful gifts from her Aunt Hollis and Uncle Alan. Her personalized backpack is just the cutest thing ever. Here is Eric modeling Loryn's new back pack.
This is the best picture from my camera of us with Eric's cousin and her family. We love getting to see them every year in December. Just wish we could see them more often and let the kids play. Here I am at 24 weeks pregnant, Eric, Loryn, Lori at 13 weeks pregnant, her husband Michael and son Matthew. Loryn and Matthew are 3 1/2 months apart.
We went over to the Ostrowe's for dinner one night while we were visiting. They set up a kids table for Loryn and Nathaniel to eat pizza and juice, while the adults enjoyed chicken saltimboca. We had a wonderful time with them, and decided to have them over for dinner on New Year's eve. Loryn and Nathaniel had so much fun playing that night too.

Jumping for joy for the new year.

Dancing With Daddy

Loryn loves this valentine's bear that Grandma Lisa and I both have. She decided she wanted to dance with daddy to the music. Hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed watching her have fun with her daddy.

Hanukkah 2010

Thank you everyone for making this such a special Hanukkah for Loryn. She had so much fun opening presents this year and loved all of her gifts. Here are some of our favorite pictures from Hanukkah. Please view my Facebook page to see more pictures.
Loryn opening her Hello Kitty bag full of coloring books and crayons from Grandma Lisa.
She had soo much fun ripping off the wrapping paper on her new backpack from Aunt Hollis and Uncle Alan
Forget the present, it was all about the bows she could put in her hair
Loryn emptied out the blocks from her wagon and decided to take her cousin on a wagon ride around the house. Poor Gabriel seems like he is looking for help to get out of this situation.
Loryn giving her cheesy smile. She loves her beach bag from Aunt Jan and Uncle Rick.
