Happy Father's Day!

It has taken me a whole week to post these pictures and a video. Sorry about the wait to those who really wanted to see Loryn playing with the dogs.

For Father's Day, Loryn and I made Eric pancakes (well, I made them and Loryn watched me), and then Eric got to open his gifts from us. He got 3 cards, 2 store bought, and 1 we made at Kodak.com with pictures of Eric and Loryn. For his presents, Eric got a subscription to Esquire magazine and the first season of Criminal Minds. After Loryn woke up from her nap, we headed over to the Reese's house for the afternoon. We had amazing food: steak, 2 kinds of jumbo shrimp, salad, garlic infused bread, and wine. We enjoyed the company of good friends and celebrated Eric and Jeff's first Father's Day! The babies had fun (we think). Loryn was very nice to Jaxson and only tried to take his pacifier from him once. Loryn had a blast playing with all of Jaxson's toys and the dogs.

I WIN!!!

Loryn's newest "thing" is to grab Eric's shoes and with one hand, she pumps her fist up in the air. She thinks she is the champion or something. I have no idea where she gets this from, but it is very funny to watch.

And we are up and moving

Loryn has started crawling! Kinda. She is so funny when she tries.

Loryn's Vacation to Del Ray Beach

This year Eric, Loryn and I took a week long vacation to visit Eric's family in South Florida. We had a nice relaxing trip. We spent several days out by the pool.

Loryn discovered dogs right before we left for vacation. When we visited Eric's dad, she just loved their dog. She has started to learn how to pet dogs. Scruffy wasn't too thrilled at times to go and visit with Loryn, probably because she would scream at the dog. And when we visited Eric's grandfather, his dog was very excited to play with Loryn and she was just a little nervous.
After a long day of playing, Loryn fell asleep while playing in her exersaucer at Eric's mom's house.

Loryn got to spend some time visiting with lots of people. Here is Loryn visiting with her great grandpa. We got to see them for dinner and then again in the week for lunch.
Here is Loryn with her godfather Eric. We stopped by their new house and had dinner and dessert. Loryn loved the dessert that Jaime made for us. And why wouldn't she, it was cannolli.
We took Eric's mom out for her birthday to a great rib place. Loryn was so interested in Lisa's dessert that she just dug right in. Here is my little trouble maker with some whipped cream.Towards the end of the week, Loryn decided it would be fun to spit her food back out at us.Here is a video that we took midway through the meal.

And the aftermath pictures will be below. We tried so hard not to laugh at her while she blew raspberries. We don't want her to think this is acceptable behavior. (meanwhile, she is still doing this a week later at dinner time)
Not sure if you can see, but there was food everywhere. All over her highchair, the dining room table, Loryn and me.

8 months old

Loryn is 8 months old. She is weighing in at 16.5 pounds and 28 inches. This puts Loryn between the 10th and 25th percentile for her weight and between the 75th and 90th percentile for her height.

Loryn now has a pretty decent vocabulary:
Mama
Mom
Dada
Dad
Daddy
Up
Papa
Pop
Baba (bottle)
Blah
Mo (more)
Abuela
Barbara
No
Bob

Loryn can scoot backwards, she can get into a few yoga positions, and can pull herself into a standing position. She sits by herself, feeds herself bottles, and plays with her toys. She is a very happy baby. We have been giving her a few table scraps of foods. Still no teeth, but definitely teething and a little miserable because of it.
