Getting so big

This weekend, we took some pictures of Loryn and just enjoyed watching what she would do in different situations. Loryn is definitely crawling backwards. She backed herself into a corner and banged on the door and said bye-bye.

Out at lunch on Sunday Eric was telling Loryn what a good girl she was being, and she started shaking her head no. Now when Eric asks her a question, she shakes her head no. I think this came from her watching the video of her cousin Zach and he shakes his head no. She has seen the video twice. Once with me, and once when I showed Eric. Not sure if she knows what it means, but it is cute to ask her questions and watch her shake her head no.

Loryn will also stand if you set her up to do it. She still prefers to stand rather than sit.

Loryn in her new bathtub. It gives a whole new meaning to rubber ducky.

Loryn and I participated in the Easter Seals walk on May 16th. We raised 150 dollars. Here are two pictures from the event

First Mother's Day

My wonderful family on Mother's Day at Brunch!
My first Mother's Day was absolutely wonderful. I was surprised by my Aunt Barbara who flew in on Saturday afternoon. My Aunt Jan and Uncle Rick came to celebrate Mother's Day with us and arrived Saturday evening. It was the first time that Loryn had gotten to meet Aunt Jan and Uncle Rick. And she definitely warmed up to them quickly. Loryn started saying Barbara (Bah-Brah) Saturday night. Everyone this weekend was Barbara. It was very very cute.
We started Mother's Day with gifts at my house. Loryn and Eric bought me a beautiful charm bracelet. Aunt Jan and Uncle Rick got me a beautful candy dish and treated me to dinner Saturday night and brunch on Sunday. We all went to brunch at the Rusty Pelican where there was sooo much food. We then all went to the pool where Aunt Barbara was staying. Loryn had a blast in the water, and we hung out pool side until dinner. Mom joined us at the pool and for dinner. After the pool, Aunt Barbara gave me my mother's day gift. She had some items of my dad's framed for me. Inside the frame are pieces that my dad had made in shop class when he was younger. We are going to be hanging this frame very soon. Dinner was great, we went out to Lee Roy Selmans. And finished the night off, going over wedding pictures with Aunt Jan while the boys were smoking cigars. It was such a wonderful weekend. Please check out the pictures below.

We let Loryn try a lemon. She made a really cute sour face.
Loryn was showing everyone how she can feed herself.
We went swimming in the pool in the afternoon. We stayed in the "indoor" pool.

7 months old

Today Loryn is 7 months old. I can't believe my little girl is already 7 months old. This time has just been flying by. Eric and I weighed and measured Loryn today, so here are the current stats:

Weight: 16 pounds.
Height 27.67 inches
Teeth: none
Sleeping: on average 9 hours a night

Loryn gained 1 pound in the last month and a little over an inch.

We started Loryn on breakfast this morning. From now on she will be eating 3 times a day. We have been introducing her to oatmeal at night, and for breakfast today she had 4 ounces of oatmeal and apples. She loved it and ate it all. Her portion sizes are starting to be increased for food. She is going from 2.5 ounces to around 4ounces at each feeding. We are also introducing meats, and a little bit of dairy if it is already mixed in.
